Kimberly "Casey" Carroll Cary passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2022 in
Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born on September 8, 1967 in Terre Haute,
Indiana, to Marcia Marie Hayworth and Norbert Fortner, Jr.
Casey loved the color purple. She crocheted numerous items for friends
and family and she loved playing games. Despite Casey's physical
limitations, she couldn't be kept home; Casey could be seen traveling
all around Fort Wayne on her motorized scooter, going as fast as she
could with her red hair flying. She attended art classes and volunteered
for the Three Rivers Festival. Casey's most beloved belonging was her
much-loved and weathered bear, Teddy, who accompanied her to the Great
Beyond. In Casey's earlier years, she had a lengthy career as a
Licensed Practical Nurse at care homes, where she was very much
appreciated by her patients.
She will be especially missed by her many friends, including Sue Scott
(Sissy), Cindy Herman, Brekke Scott, Jeremy Scott, Julie Parker, Cathy
Cross, and Laura and her Disorderly Bears friends, and her multitude of
gaming and Dr. Who friends. Casey had an infectious laugh that was
truly appreciated by her friends and family.
Also mourning her loss are her aunt, Debbie Branson, and her five
sisters and brothers: Tim Cary, Cathy Cary, Crystal Merz, Matt Cary and
Greg Cary, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Casey was predeceased by her parents, Harold F. Cary and Marcia Marie
Hayworth Cary.
As per Casey's wishes, a game party with friends and family will be held
on Monday, August 8 from 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. in Meeting Room C at Allen
County Public Library Main Branch at 900 Library Plaza, Fort Wayne,
Indiana. If you need parking directions or have other questions please
