Kimberly Lynn Buchanan, 58, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Indiana University Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Harvey, Illinois, Kim was a daughter of Bobby Adams and the late Judith (Gail) Adams.
Kim earned her Associate Degree from Indiana Tech and became a Certified Pharmacy Technician. She took each of her patients to heart and never hesitated to go above and beyond to help them obtain the medications they needed as they worked toward better health. Kim genuinely cared about the people she served, and her compassion and willingness to help others were a reflection of the kind of person she was.
Kim was someone who never focused on the negative. She had a special ability to find the good in people and in life, and she chose to live each day with that outlook. Her positive spirit, kind heart, and genuine love for others touched many lives.
Kim found the love of her life in Bruce Buchanan, and together they shared 35 years filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. She enjoyed making crafts, including handmade dog leashes and collars, and cherished the time she spent with her friends. But above all else, Kim treasured her family. Nothing brought her greater joy than being surrounded by the people she loved and making memories with them.
Surviving are her loving husband, Bruce Wayne Buchanan; father, Bobby Adams; children, Bridget (Brock) Warner, Michael (Ali Seaman) Buchanan, Robert (Vannessa) Buchanan, and Matthew Buchanan; step-daughters, Stacey Sanders and Patricia (John) Stallings; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; siblings, Robin (Tim) Powers and Mark Adams; and many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Kim was preceded in death by her mother, Judith Adams, and her brother, Terry Adams.
Service is 11 am, Thursday, September 10, 2026 at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street, with calling one hour prior. Burial in Marion National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Matthew 25.
