Kenneth Lee Modesitt, PhD, age 82, went to be with his Heavenly Father, on December 11, 2023. He was born in Chicago, IL on March 8, 1941 to the late C. Keith and Lorene Modesitt. Ken retired from IPFW as an Emeritus professor of Computer Science. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church (ELCA) in Fort Wayne and will be remembered as a faithful servant of God in numerous capacities. Ken is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Jan K. Modesitt; son, Kent David Tobias of New York City, NY; sister, Janet K. Modesitt of Clarkston, MI. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kamarie Modesitt Livingston; and brother, Donald E. Modesitt. A celebration of Ken's life is 11:00 am, Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 7211 Stellhorn Rd., with Pastor Tim Graham officiating and calling one-hour prior beginning at 10:00 am. A luncheon will be served following the service. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Parkview Home Health and Hospice.
