Obituary

Kenneth Earl Baker, 67, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. Born in Decatur, Indiana, Ken was a son of the late Earl D. Baker and Beverly (Gause) Ahlersmeyer. Ken graduated from South Side High School. He served our country proudly while serving in the U.S. Army. Ken worked for 27 years for ITT prior to his employment at Bowmar which he was still an employee of. Anyone who knew Ken was aware of his love for Star Wars, Disney and cheering for his favorite sports teams. He was also an active reader, loved history and discussions on religion and politics. Ken was a member of Our Hope Lutheran Church. Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Baker; daughters, Nicole Baker, Samantha Baker; grandchildren, Baylee and Blake Tysen; siblings, Richard Baker, Bonnie Vann; step-sister, Diana Melton; half-brothers, Michael (Emma) Ahlersmeyer, Rodney Ahlersmeyer, step-mother, Carolyn Baker; sister-in-law, Sheryl Ahlersmeyer; along with many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Ken was preceded in death by his step-father, Richard Ahlersmeyer; step-brother, Richard Ahlersmeyer; and his in-laws, Robert and Sarah Gerke. Service is 11 am, Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Our Hope Lutheran Church, 1826 Trinity Street Huntertown, with calling one hour prior. Calling also at the church on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm. Memorials may be made in the care of Mary Ann Baker for the education fund of his grandchildren. FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services is handling arrangements.
