Obituary

Kay is now reunited with her beloved husband and soul mate, James H. Hill, II; her grandparents; father, Donald Richard Slattery and her many four-legged children. Do not grieve for Kay as she is finally at peace. She has won the war against her failing body and the separation from Jim.

Kay was a true force to be reckoned with. Her determination, independence and the never backing down from a fight was often viewed by some as gruff, confrontational and downright bitchy; however, those of us who really knew her, knew better. She was a strong woman, who had her faults, but most others secretly wanted to have even a shred of her strength and tenacity.

Kay's maternal grandparents were founding members of Peace Lutheran Church, she was member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 296 for many years and loved riding a motorcycle and playing poker.

Kay was a legal assistant for over 30 years and throughout that time, the Three Musketeers was formed. There were many nights on the back deck with Karla and Rachel analyzing current legal issues, alleged case scenarios, and other legal topics. For Karla and Rachel, there will be no replacement and the Three will become Two.

Kay forged friendships with recent co-workers from Bed, Bath & Beyond. She enjoyed the monthly parties where they continued to spend time together, laughing and just relaxing by the fire.

Kay was deliberate in choosing her pall bearers and each one of these men were important to her. We thank Zion Kinnee, Shane Atkinson, Todd Moeller, Lucas Isaacs, Kyle Gough, and Patrick Slattery. Kay loved, admired and was proud to have you in her life in whatever capacity.

Kay is survived by her mother, Carmen F. Ortstadt Seeman; brother, Patrick A. (Karen) Slattery; sisters, Karla Warner and Rachel (Dave Kinnee) McNeely (The Two Musketeers); several cousins; Webster; and many other friends and adopted family.

We appreciate the staff from Heartland Hospice and the staff at Fairhaven Funeral Home. Fairhaven has been entrusted with Kay's care and wishes as we all CELEBRATE her life with laughter, dancing and maybe (probably) a few beers.
