Kathy Young, 67, was tragically killed in an accident Thursday, September 9th, 2021 in Fort Wayne. She was born in Scottsville, KY to the late James and Rebecca Herald. Kathy had worked at General Electric for 22 years. Most recently she worked for Regal Beloit until her retirement. Kathy had a passion for quilting and loved working on challenging quilt patterns. She became an avid birder with her husband. She enjoyed taking photos of birds and waterfalls because she was out in God's incredible nature. Kathy also loved biking and walking. Most of all she loved her God, children, and grandchildren. Kathy was a member of Taylor Chapel United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Tim Young of Fort Wayne; daughters, Amanda (TJ) Reagan of Scottsville, KY and Crystal (Bryan) Mobley of Boiling Green, KY, Emily Young of Holland, MI, and Dr. Zachary (Dr. Misty Good) Young of St. Louis, MO; four grandchildren, Hailey, Bryson, Paxton Mobley and Emerson Reagan; siblings, Debbie (Herman) Harp of Lafayette, TN and Michael (Judy) Herald of Scottsville, KY
Kathy was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Reese, Finnley, and Nash Reagan.
A Celebration of life service is 7:00 pm, Monday, September 27, 2021 with calling two hours prior beginning at 5:00 pm at Taylor Chapel United Methodist Church, 10145 Maysville Road, Fort Wayne in 46815. The service will be streamed online on the Taylor Chapel Facebook page.
