Karen Sue Bradbury, 68, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 20, 2025, in Fort Wayne. She was born in Fort Wayne, IN, to the late Lloyd and Janet Bradbury. Karen earned her B.A. & M.A. from Purdue & IU and spent 30+ years teaching her loved Arlington 1st graders. She was a loyal Boilermaker fan, and an avid traveler who had many amazing adventures throughout her life. She traveled all over the world and was a part of the National Geographic Explorers Club. Some of her most memorable adventures were being able to watch and touch gray whales in Baja, track gorillas with Jack Hanna, and experience South Africa, Egypt, and New Zealand with her nieces & nephew. She had a caring and affectionate heart, evidenced by the way she adopted many cats and would go out of her way to help special needs cats. Karen is survived by her two siblings, Barbara (Bill) Howard and Michael (Marianne) Bradbury; nieces, Sarah Howard and Kaitlin Howard; nephew, Tyler Bradbury; and her beloved cats, who will all miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her fiancé, Herman Kratzert. A celebration of Karen's life will take place at the Botanical Conservatory on March 21, 2025 from 5:00-9:00 pm. We welcome anyone who would like to share a few words. Guest parking available at the Civic Center parking garage at the corner of Jefferson & Calhoun St. To sign the online guestbook, go to
