Julie Ann Barkley, 56, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away on January 5, 2025. Born on December 3, 1968, Julie graduated from North Side High School, a place where she formed many lifelong friendships and memories.
Known for her kind nature, caring attitude, and great sense of humor, Julie touched the lives of many. Playing sports or living life, Julie was very competitive in all she did and it served her well in her daily challenges. As a Livestrong leader she inspired so many survivors in her role as an instructor for the Livestrong Program at the Jackson Lehman YMCA. Her ability to light up a room with her smile and her unwavering support for her loved ones were her defining traits. Her career in mortgages began with Mr. Ruoff, Waterfield Mortgage and finished with Hallmark. Her Hallmark team was family and their support to her last day was a gift to her and her family and is forever appreciated.
Julie is survived by her loving husband, Tom Barkley; daughter, Meg Barkley; brother, Todd Lynch; and nieces, Brianna Timmons and Madison Lynch. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Jackie Lynch.
A memorial service for Julie will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at 3 pm with visitation beginning at 1pm, at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation, 6557 N. Clinton St.
A special request from Julie's family, "We will be wearing pink to Julie's memorial service as a way to honor her, and we would like to invite you to join us in wearing pink if you are able to!"
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Julie's memory can be made to the American Cancer Society, an organization she deeply supported.
