Judith Ann "Judy" Stout, 81, passed away peacefully and went to her heavenly home on Sunday, July 19, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Judy was the daughter of the late Elmer Eugene and Elline Fern "Bunny" Dennis. She graduated from North Side High School and later attended Ivy Tech Community College, where she studied accounting. Judy dedicated more than 25 years of her career as an accountant with Dilgard Frozen Foods.

Anyone who knew Judy knew she was intelligent, fun-loving, and always on the go. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling, and later in life she cherished playing cards and dominoes with her dear friends. She also found great joy in crocheting, feeding the birds, and listening to the music of the 1960s and 1970s. One of her favorite pastimes was attending performances by her favorite tribute band, Spike and the Bulldogs.

Judy had a special fondness for elephants and proudly collected elephant figurines. She often said she admired elephants because they were big and strong, and no one ever picked on them for their size—a sentiment that reflected both her sense of humor and her compassionate heart.

She was an exceptional cook who loved preparing large holiday meals, bringing family and friends together around her table. Judy loved spending time with others and rarely missed an opportunity to attend a party, especially a pool party. She loved swimming and, while raising her children, could often be found spending summer days at area lakes and community pools. She remained active for many years by participating in water aerobics.

Judy even found joy in everyday activities. She loved grocery shopping and, in her later years, would often stroll through the grocery store simply to get some exercise. She especially enjoyed finding a great bargain, and Aldi was her favorite place to hunt for the best deals. Judy had a sweet tooth and absolutely loved a trip to Zesto for a good ice cream cone or a Turtle Sunday. When her children brough home a good report card-which they proudly did-she would celebrate by taking them to Atz's for a special treat.

She also enjoyed sailing, taking cruises, and was an active member of the Fort Wayne Power Squadron, where she faithfully served as Treasurer for many years.

Above all, Judy treasured her family and the time she spent with those she loved.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Cathleen (Bill) Westrick; her siblings, Janice (Don) Korte, Jeanne Vance, and David Dennis; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Ted Stout; her brother-in-law, Ron Vance; and her sister-in-law, Rosemary Dennis.

A Celebration of Judy's Life will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Humane Fort Wayne, Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
