Joyce A. (Hall) Smith, 72, of Fort Wayne went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 4, 2018. She leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love by all who knew her. Born on June 26, 1945 in McDowell, KY, she was a daughter of the late Verman and Melvina (Newman) Hall.
Surviving are her children, Ralph Smith of Fort Wayne and Pamela (Cliff) Valencia of Grabill; step-son, Pat (Debbie) Smith of New Haven and step-daughter, Cindi (John) Spino of Vienna, WV; grandchildren, Bethany; Brandon; Brady; Brooke; Cole and Johnny; great-grandsons, Elliott and Colton; siblings, Eulavene (Hobert) Preston of Lexington, KY; Loretta Bolin; Janet (David) Vanhoose; Deborah (Roy) Frazier and Terry (Wanda) Hall, all of McDowell, KY; and a plethora of nieces and nephews that will always remember her for her humbleness and loving nature. She spent most of her life babysitting for so many children that she came to love as her own. She will be missed and loved by all. She was ready to go to her home in heaven that she had never seen before and walk with her Lord and love ones free of pain and suffering. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Smith in 2004; brothers, Phil; Eldon and Carl Gene Hall; and one great-granddaughter, Lillian Grace Burkhammer.
Funeral service is 11 AM Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Fairhaven Funeral Home 6557 N. Clinton Street with visitation one-hour prior. Visitation also 2 – 4 and 5 – 8 PM Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the funeral home.
Burial in Highland Park Cemetery.
