Obituary

John P. Wilkinson, 71, of Spencerville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 25, 2024 with his wife and daughters by his side at Parkview Regional Medical Center. John graduated from Bishop Dwenger High School in 1971 then went on to graduate from Purdue University with a degree in business. He retired from the City of Fort Wayne Fleet Department. John is a former member of the Fort Wayne Ski Club, where he met his wife.

Always an outdoorsman, John was an avid hunter and fisherman, and took great pride in his very large garden, generously sharing the bounty with friends and family. But, more than anything, he was a man who loved his family, and was loved by his wife, children, and grandchildren in return.

John is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Karen; daughters, Jennifer (Nick) Yack, and Elizabeth (Joel) Sanders; grandchildren, Katelyn, Logan, Hudson, Emily, and Olivia; brothers, William (Patricia) Wilkinson, and James (Shirley) Wilkinson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Garner and Adelaide Wilkinson; and his beloved in laws, Karl and Sandy Schlademan.
