John E. "Jack" Schafer, 84, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Monday November 6, 2023, at Ashton Creek Health and Rehab. Jack was the son of the late George J. and Evelyn M. Schafer. He graduated from Central Catholic High School class of 1957. After graduation he went to work in the printing industry and later owned a successful printing company.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Elaine M. Schafer, nee Koorsen; daughter, Lisa A. Storms; son, Jeffrey S. Schafer; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 14 step grandchildren, and 2 step great-grandchildren.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Sandra L. "Sandy" Schafer, and brother, Donald G Schafer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday November 10, 2023 at 11:00am with visitation 1 hour prior at St Joseph Catholic Church, 2213 Brooklyn Ave. Burial will take place at Catholic Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials may be directed to Autism Speaks.
