John Raymond Nommay, 63, died on Tuesday December 20th at home. He was born on August 25, 1960 in Fort Wayne to the late Walter and Milka Nommay. He graduated from Concordia Lutheran High School and Colorado University and worked for Chemical Bank, Fort Wayne National bank, and Essex Wire. For the last twenty years he was the offensive line coach for the Concordia Lutheran High School football team.
John is survived by his wife, Alison Lamm Nommay, daughter Susan Colace (Nate) and granddaughter Eliana. Also surviving are his sisters Tina (Jim) Buchholz, Katrina (Matt ) Kline and several nieces and nephews.
John loved his dogs, Sullivan, Bentley, Carly and the late Gizmo and Hallie. He also enjoyed his time volunteering at CLHS sporting events and had fond memories of the student athletes he worked with over the years. John loved his corvette and taking it on drives to visit his family. John was also so proud to be a part of the 2016 CLHS football state championship game.
Funeral services for John will take place on Wednesday December 27th 2023 at 11:00 am with visitation beginning at 10:00 am, visitation will also take place on Tuesday December 26th 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm, all at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St. Burial will follow at Lindenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers preferred memorials may be directed to Concordia Lutheran High School Athletic Department.
