John William Moody, 76, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021 in Fort Wayne. He was born in Terre Haute, IN to the late William and Kathryn Moody. John served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era. For 45 years, he worked for International Paper as both the maintenance superintendent and electrician. John was a member of the First Assembly of God, American Legion Post 296 where he was commander for three years, the Scottish Rite of Terre Haute Valley, and the Free Masons Social Lodge #86. He was a talented artist who loved to draw. John is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judith Moody of Fort Wayne; children, Julie (Kevin) Williams, JayLynn (Frank) Makridakis, and John (Kelli) Moody Jr. all of Fort Wayne; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Pam (Steve) Mauro, Rebecca (Mark) Thompson, Steve (Kathy) Moody, Tammy (Steve) Caldwell, Keith (Kim) Moody. He was preceded in death by siblings, Sherry Kay, Jane Ann, and Kim Moody. Service 11:00 am, September 1, 2021 at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St. with calling one hour prior. Calling also 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation.
