John Martin, age 85, passed away Monday, July, 29th, 2024 in Fort Wayne. He was born in Fort Wayne, IN to the late Charles and Violet Martin. John was proud to serve his country as a US Marine and loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working with his hands. He served as a machinist at General Electric for 35 years. In his retirement he served at Grace Summit Church doing many tasks for the congregation. John is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Carolyn Martin; children, Douglas (Valerie) Martin, Michelle (Ron) Ramer, Melissa (Wayne) Schroeder; grandchildren, John, Josh, Christian, Celeste, Cody, and Hannah; great-grandchildren, Amelia Ramer, and Fox Ramer; siblings, Billy Martin, Eddie Martin, and Sandy Ragon. He was preceded in death by his siblings Charles, Henry, Bonnie, Betty, little Eddiie, and also a grandchild Noah Martin. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday August 2nd, 2024 at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services (6557 N. Clinton Street) with calling on hours prior to the service. There will be an evening visitation the day before the service on Thursday, August 1st, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.
