John Fisher, 73, of Fort Wayne, passed away surrounded by the love of his family on Sunday, November 2, 2025. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, friend, and the best grandpa ever. He will be remembered most for his big heart, his protective nature, and the love he had for those closest to him. There was never a stranger he did not know.
John was a proud graduate of South Side High School, class of 1970, and was also one hell of an athlete, John served as a three-year football captain. He was the ultimate family man, always making sure his loved ones were safe, cared for, and knew how much they meant to him. Family came first in everything he did.
He was an avid sports fan who cheered passionately for the Chicago Bears, Indiana Hoosiers, New York Yankees and Dale Earnhardt. A true collector at heart, John loved spending his time at garage sales, estate sales, and flea markets, always on the lookout for unique treasures, especially vintage beer signs. With a Miller Lite in hand and a smile on his face, he could turn any day into a good one.
John will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his love, laughter, and spirit will live on forever in the hearts of his family.
John is survived by his wife, Patricia Fisher; his children, Angela (Ben) Sherman, Lucas Fisher, and Jacob (Jackalyn) Fisher; his grandchildren, Isabelle, Anthony, and William Sherman; his former wife, Liz Fisher; his brothers, Steve (Sue) Fisher and David Fisher; and his sister, Debbie Wallace. John was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Wayne Fisher.
