John Caywood, age 53, passed away Sunday, October 17, 2021 in Fort Wayne. He was born in Fort Wayne to J. Michael and Nancy Caywood of Fort Wayne, who survive. John served as the County Building Commissioner. He attended Harvest Fellowship Church.

John is also survived by his wife, Amy Caywood of Fort Wayne; children, Tyler (Haylee) Caywood, Ethan (Patience) Caywood, and Sofia (Brett) Jones all of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren, Calvin, Magnolia, Franklin, and Wrenn; siblings Elizabeth Caywood of Fort Wayne, Benjamin (Justine) Caywood of Columbia City, IN, and Rebecca (Dustin) Case of Leo, IN.

John's children and grandchildren were the light of his life. He loved spending time with them playing trains and telling stories. John was the chef of the family and enjoyed barbecuing on his smoker. John spent much of his time outdoors taking care of his garden and natural pond, as well as observing wildlife. John loved traveling to North Carolina every year for the annual family vacation. He and Amy enjoyed weekend getaways in Michigan and Georgia. John also enjoyed the fellowship of the men in his prayer group.

Service is 10:30 am, Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Brookside Church, 6102 Evard Rd., with calling one hour prior. Calling also 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Friday October 22, 2021 at Brookside Church. Burial at Concordia Cemetery Gardens.
