Obituary
John Edward Boyer, age 84, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025.
Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, John was the son of the late George Edward and Helen Rose (DeCasperis) Boyer. He attended South Side High School. John worked at Indiana Wire Die before embarking on a highly successful career as a real estate agent in Denver, CO which he pursued from 1978 until his retirement in 2002.
John enjoyed golfing, fishing, and playing cards, but his greatest joy came from spending time on his boat, out on the water. Known for his competitive nature, quick wit, and dry sense of humor, John brought laughter and lively conversation to every gathering.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Donna Boyer; daughters, Kathy (Robert Hemsoth) Boyer, Wendy (Brett) Bojrab; step-children, David (Caroline) McBane, Kathy (Kevin McClintock) McBane, Sharon (Bryan) Oskey, and Linda (Jon Yoder) Fick; grandchildren, Chesney (Tristan) Friedel, Marisa Maldeney, Adriana Musi, Paul (Amber) Fick, Megan (Tucker) Bitting, Michael (Chantel) McBane, Alex (Alexis) McBane, Jennifer Oskey, and Samantha Oskey; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A gathering to celebrate John's life will begin at 11 am, Saturday, October 4, 2025 with words of remembrance at 12 noon at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street , with calling one hour prior.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
