Johanna "Jo" Catherine Herber, 68, passed away peacefully at home on August 6, 2026. She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Thomas and Maxine Morris.

Jo worked as a secretary at Lincoln Elementary, where she was known for her kindness, dedication, and genuine love for children. She found great joy in encouraging and caring for the students she met.

She enjoyed reading and expressing her creativity through sewing, making handmade cards, and creating classroom banners and decorations. Above all, she cherished her family and treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren. She also shared a close and loving bond with her mother, a relationship that remained special throughout her life.

Jo is survived by her husband, Steve Herber Sr; sons, Steve Herber Jr (Erin) and Sam Herber (Lora); mother, Maxine Davis; grandchildren, Mark, Chris, and Holly; one great-grandson; one brother, Tom Morris (Sandy); two sisters, Diana Morris (Sue) and Bev Ackerman; many nieces and nephews; and close personal friend Robin Stockberger.

She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Morris.

A memorial service will take place on Monday, August 17, 2026, at 4 pm, located at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services (6557 N. Clinton Street), with calling from 2 pm until the service at 4 pm. Memorial donations may be given to Parkview Hospice or Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
