Joan Shank was received by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 29, 2021 at her daughter's home in Orlando, FL. Born on August 13, 1933 in Peru, IN, she was the daughter of David B. and Nellie T. (Welke) Geyer. Joan married her husband John T. Shank on May 7,1960 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was preceded in her death by John, her husband of 53 years, in 2013. Joan was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne, IN and always recalled her favorite Scripture Passage: Psalm 118:24 "This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." She is survived by her two children, Susan (Jim) Serstad of Orlando, FL., and Rev. Steven (Rita) Shank of Leopold, IN. She had 5 grandchildren, Cameron and Spencer Shank, Garrett Serstad, Jenna (nee Serstad) Eizenga, and Ian Serstad. She was great grandmother to Ellie and Harrison Shank. She is also survived by her sibling sister, Norma Jean (Merl) Bloom. Visitation will be 9:00-11:00am with Funeral Service following at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 7710 E. State Blvd, Fort Wayne, IN 46815, Rev. Steven Ahlersmeyer presiding. Burial will be at Concordia Gardens, Fort Wayne. Memorials and Donations in Joan's honor may be directed to St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
