Jill Sivitskis-Kresal, 60, formerly of Rockdale, Illinois and most recently of Valparaiso, Indiana, passed away surrounded by the love of her family.
Jill was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend whose greatest joy in life was spending time with the people she loved. Whether she was gathered around the table with family, sharing stories and laughter, or working on one of her knitting projects, Jill had a way of making those around her feel welcome, cared for, and loved.
She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Kresal; her three sons, Brandon (Charlie) Kresal of Angola, Indiana, Benjamin (Angel) Kresal of Lake Village, Indiana, and Bill (Vicky) Kresal of Lowell, Indiana. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Madeline and Benjamin, who brought endless pride and happiness to her life.
Jill is further survived by her Uncle Leon “Rocky” Ausec of Rockdale, Illinois; her Aunt Felice Sivitskis of Rockdale, Illinois; cousins Kathy Hamilton and Harmony Lussier of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, Sarah Lewis of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and her goddaughter, Megan Dawe of Wrentham, Massachusetts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carol Ausec and Paul Sivitskis.
Jill had a gift for creating things with her hands and sharing them with those she loved. Knitting brought her endless enjoyment, and she was rarely without a project in progress. Those who knew her best often joked that she never quite finished a knitting project—there was always another pattern to start, another idea to try, or another skein of yarn waiting for inspiration. The unfinished projects she leaves behind are a fitting reminder of her creativity, her optimism, and a life that was always moving forward with the next adventure in mind.
While her family mourns her loss, they find comfort in imagining her joyful reunion with her parents, Carol and Paul, and her cherished dogs, Krunch and Bentley, who surely greeted her with wagging tails and boundless excitement.
Jill’s legacy is one of love, laughter, resilience, and unwavering devotion to family. She will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
In accordance with Jill’s wishes, cremation will take place. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, with details to be announced by the family.
Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing that love does not end with goodbye. Jill’s story lives on in the family she cherished, the memories she created, and the lives she touched along the way.
