Jerry Paul Carnes, age 81, of Leo, IN passed away peacefully on April 11, 2023 at his home. Jerry was born in Jennings County, IN on August 29, 1941 to the late Joseph and Marie Carnes. He graduated from North Vernon High School in 1960, was conscripted into the United States Army in 1962 and proudly served. He worked at Nucor Building Systems for 19 years and retired in 2010. Jerry enjoyed watching all types of sports and spending time with friends and family. He will be remembered forever as a patient, kind, and loving father and grandfather.

He is survived by two sons, Brad (Mindy) of Leo, IN and Brian (Angie) of Antwerp, OH; and granddaughters, Megan, Maren, and Allison. Jerry was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jo Vogel and grandsons, Brock and Braden.

Service is 6:00 pm, Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St. with calling two hours prior beginning at 4:00 pm. Jerry will be laid to rest at a private ceremony in Jennings County, IN. To sign the online guestbook, go to www.fairhavenfortwayne.com
