Jennie Sue Steury, 89, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, September 28, 2021. Born in Cherryville, North Carolina, Sue was the daughter of the late John and Grace Groce. She was a missionary with World Gospel Mission for 38 years in Kenya. She enjoyed being involved with spiritual training in the community health program of Tenwek Hospital. Sue was a member of First Missionary Church in Berne, Indiana. She is survived by her children, Cindy (Daniel) Tolan of Johnson City, TN, Jonathan (Vera) Steury of Nairobi, Kenya, Nathan (Elinda) Steury of Kafakumba, Zambia, and Debbie (Ajit) Joseph of Fort Wayne; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews. Sue was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Ernest Millard Steury and infant son, Richard Lee Steury. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at John Wesley Camp of High Point, NC.
