Obituary

Jeffrey Lynn Geisler was born to Virginia and Delver Geisler of Versailles, Indiana on August 19th, 1954. The youngest of three brothers, Jeff pursued his childhood love of baseball to Indiana State University where he graduated. Jeffrey built a successful career at Don R. Scheidt appraisal firm as a real estate appraiser. He met his wife Vicky (Truex) Geisler in Columbus, Indiana in 1983 and they were married on July 15th, 1983 Through the selfless act of adoption they created a family.

In the middle of his career he followed a Call from God to pursue a seminary education at Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft, Wayne, Indiana. He thrived and took tremendous joy in leading congregations at St Peter's Lutheran Church in Brownstown, Indiana, and at Bethlehem Lutheran in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Throughout his career as a pastor he affected thousands of lives in his congregation and community. He was a tireless advocate for Christian Education and will be remembered for his efforts at Lutheran Central School in Brownstown, and his pivotal role in the formation of Lutheran South Unity School in Ft Wayne. He touched many lives through his youth ministry and throughout the world with his mission work. As a pastor Jeffrey served the Lord faithfully, with absolute trust in God's unfailing Grace. As a member of his community Jeffrey fostered a sense of service and fellowship, leaving behind a legacy of collaboration and faith focused action.


Jeffrey was a devoted husband and father, and Cincinnati Reds fan. He led his family as he led his church congregations- with passion, love, forgiveness, and truth in his convictions. He loved his children unconditionally. His wife Vicky, was his best friend, his soul mate, and partner from the time they married through the time he left this world. Jeffrey Lyn Geisler died on Tuesday January 27th, 2026, in the presence of family and is now with his Creator and Lord.


He is survived by his loving wife, Vicky Geisler, his daughter Jessica Geisler (partner John Dixie) and son Jared Geisler (wife, Dhalia Geisler), his grandchildren: Andrew Geisler, Alex Geisler, Carmen Parra, Alice Pion, and Finn Geisler and his brothers Jerry (wife,Susan Geisler) and Johnny (wife, Gloria Geisler), nieces: Amy Geisler-Todd, and Krista Geisler-Tasch and Nephews: Jackson Truex, Jason Geisler.


A viewing will take place at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St., on Monday, February 2nd from 4-7 pm. The funeral will be held 12:00 Tuesday, February 3rd at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 3705 S. Anthony Blvd. Visitation starts at 11 am. For those unable to be with us, a live stream of the service wiill be available on the Bethlehem Lutheran Facebook page.


In lieu of flowers the family requests that all memorial donations be made to Lutheran Women in Missions (LWML) Indiana District, Lutheran South Unity School, or to the Geisler family.
