Irma "Jean'' Uhrick,88, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 6, 2023. Born in Fort Wayne, Jean was the daughter of the late Frederick and Mabel (Hazelet) Springer. Jean graduated from New Haven High School where Jean met the love of her life, Richard Uhrick. Jean and Richard were married for 70 lovely years together until his passing in May of 2023. During her working years, Jean worked for NAVL and had her own employment agency called First Step Personnel. She also worked alongside her husband at St. Joseph Township as Clerk for 24 years. Jean earned the title of "Master Gardener" from Purdue University and enjoyed gardening with her husband. Jean took pride in her garden at her home and hosted many garden walks to show all of her beautiful flowers. Jean volunteered her time and shared her love of flowers and plants by volunteering at the Botanical Gardens. Jean was an avid supporter of the Civic Theater and had season tickets for many years. She enjoyed traveling, relaxing at the beach or by the pool, shopping and dining at local restaurants with her daughter and grandchildren. Jean cherished her family, loved her husband dearly and is now united together with him forever. Surviving are her children, Scott (Kris) Uhrick, Sarah (Brad) Gnagy; grandchildren Michelle Uhrick, Sandy Uhrick, Graham Gnagy and Carmen Gnagy. A Celebration of Jean's Life will be at 3 pm, Saturday, November 18, 2023 at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street, with calling from 1pm until the services.
