Jean Becker Peterschmidt, 72, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023. Born in Kendallville, Jean was a daughter of the late George and Ruth (Stigner) Homsher. Jean graduated from East Noble High School. She worked at Flint and Walling and Newnan's Foundry in Kendallville during the 1970's. She owned and operated the VIP Bar and Grill in Fort Wayne for 15 years and enjoyed bantering back and forth with her customers. Jean enjoyed spending time on Sylvan Lake, boating, gardening, tending to her plants, and traveling through Colorado as she loved the mountains. She was the life of the party and spending time with her family and friends was most important to her. Surviving are her husband, Andrew Peterschmidt; daughter, Deedra (Patrick) Strater Schoudel; step-sons, Jay Becker, Chad (Jennifer) Becker; granddaughter, Kassidi (Tony) VanAllen Norris; 2 great-granddaughters, Charlie Irene Norris, and Raegan Elisabeth Norris. Jean was preceded in death by her brother, John Homsher; and sister, Amy Christian. A Celebration of Jean's Life will be Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 2 pm to 5 pm at Club Soda, 235 E.
