Janis L. McQueen Gatke, 90, passed away into the arms of Jesus on July 1, 2026, in Angola, Indiana. She was born in Fort Wayne, IN, to the late Ralph and Louella McQueen

Janis devoted her life to caring for her family as a homemaker. She loved bowling, golfing at Canterbury, camping, boating, and playing bingo, and she found joy in any opportunity to be surrounded by the people she loved. Above all, Janis cherished the time spent with her family, and she will be remembered for the warmth, fun, and togetherness she brought to family gatherings.

Janis is survived by her children, Michele Gatke, Michael (Kristine) Gatke, Susan Scott, and Mark (Elizabeth) Gatke; daughter-in-law, Charlene Gatke; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Michael Gatke Sr.; son, James Gatke; three brothers, and 1 sister.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 1:00 pm, located at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services (6557 N. Clinton Street), with calling hours beginning at 11:00 am until the time of service. Memorial donations may be given to the American Heart Association.
