Janice M. Panyard, age 78, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, in Fort Wayne. Born and raised in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Warn Wasson and Anna Wasson, who survives. Janice graduated from North Side High School and built a meaningful career as a cake decorator at Kroger, where her creativity and care touched countless lives. She especially cherished making cakes for her family and friends, a tradition that brought joy to every celebration.
Janice was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church; she and her late husband were proud to be part of the inaugural graduating class of the Citizens Police Academy, a reflection of their commitment to community service.
Janice is survived by her children, Ron (Sharon) Panyard and Edwin Panyard; five grandchildren, Matt Adelsberger, John (Ashley) Panyard, Ben (Becca) Adelsberger, Nicholas (Cassie) Panyard, and Eric Davis; 17 great-grandchildren; siblings, Warn (Judy) Wasson, Jr. and Ellen (Dave) Rocky.
Janice was also preceded in death by her husband, Ronald E. Panyard.
Calling is 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St., with a 1:30 pm graveside service to follow at Catholic Cemetery, 3500 Lake Ave. Memorials may be made family or to Cancer Services of N.E. Indiana.
