Janice Kay Koorsen, age 77, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at her home in Avilla, IN. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Joseph Harrison Koorsen; children Deanna (David) Sipe, Joseph J. (Amy) Koorsen, Jennifer Wert, and Benjamin Koorsen; 5 grandchildren, Carina Koorsen, Athena Jones, Hannah Wert, Joseph T. Koorsen, and Emily Koorsen; 6 great-grandchildren, Alexander and Eli Weber, Alice, Emma, Adam, and Arther Martin; and sisters Linda Lorraine and Sharon Koogler. Janice was a radiant soul whose warmth and kindness touched all who knew her. A devoted follower of Jesus, she lived her life with boundless compassion, always ready with a smile, a prayer, and a sweetness that drew people in. From the moment you met Janice, you couldn't help but be charmed by her genuine spirit. She was warm and accepting to all, going out of her way to help others in need. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she prayed tirelessly for her family and all the precious little ones in her life. She found profound joy in being immersed in the word and attended multiple bible studies in fellowship with others and in Sunday services at Pathway praising and worshiping our Lord.
Janice found joy in the simple pleasures - the beauty of nature, the vibrant colors of flowers, and the adventure of travel as well as the deep bond and abiding love she shared with her husband. But her true passion was sharing God's word and her deep, abiding faith. She treasured her relationship with the Lord and prayed that her loved ones would find the same peace and fulfillment.
Janice used her work through Visiting Angels to share God's peace and love to others who were willing. She sought to comfort and care for countless individuals, embodying the virtues of love, compassion, and consideration that defined her character.
