Janice Marie Hieber, age 73, passed away Friday, September 6, 2024 at her home in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born in Fort Wayne to the late Arthur and Wilma Hieber. Janice worked 41 years as a faithful teacher in the Lutheran schools most recently St. Peters Lutheran School. She was also a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and she will be remembered for the love she showed her cats, and most of all her family. Janice is survived by her siblings, Ray (Midge) Hieber; niece, Anne (Daniel) Leyva; nephews Michael (Ori) Hieber and William (Lori) Hieber; two great-nieces, Emmeline Hieber and Maeve Hieber; and great-nephews Jonah Parnaby and Liam Parnaby. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Patt Hieber. Service is 12:00 pm, Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 7710 E. State Blvd., with calling two hours prior beginning at 10:00 am. Burial at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.
