Janet Rose Shockney, age 74, of Fort Wayne passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at her home. She was born in Fort Wayne, to the late Darlene and Naomi Bermes. Janet worked over 30 years as an LPN with several local providers and cared for several children as a foster parent. She loved quilting, traveling, and spending time with family especially her grandchildren. Janet is survived by her husband of 55 years, Steve Shockney; children, Michelle Camp of Fort Wayne, Kelly (Roger) Yeiter Roanoke, IN; Steve Jr. (Lisa) Shockney Larwill, IN, Shannon (Brandi) Shockney Roanoke, IN, and Christian Shockney of Fort Wayne; 9 grandchildren; sister, Susie (Bob) Mowan of Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 1 brother. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association.
