On December 7, 2025, after 92 years Jane J Syndram died and left this world with a little less joy. She was born on October 19th, 1933, in West Terre Haute and grew up surrounded by a large family who taught her the meaning of love and tenacity. She married Herbert Armstrong and had 4 children whom she loved ferociously. After being widowed at a young age, Jane raised her 4 children and put herself through college, ultimately getting her master’s degree in special education. She moved to New Haven, Indiana, and taught special education at New Haven Middle School, where she held many different special licensures to better help her students. She is preceded in death by her 8 siblings, her husband Herbert, her son Carl, and her second husband, Sidney. She is survived by her children, Susan (Jack) Lawson, Herbert (Debbie) Armstrong, and Betty (John) Meyer, and her stepchildren Richard (Dixie) Syndram, Sidney (Toya) Syndram, and Gary (Tammy) Syndram. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Jane was an avid reader, especially of romance and mystery novels, and she loved to handmake cards for the people that she loved. She laughed freely and often, and she never let anyone leave without a smile on their face. Jane went out of her way to find something she liked about every person she met. She made an impact on the life of every person she met, and she will not be forgotten. Jane loved her family with her whole heart, even the ones not related by blood. The family will be holding a private service at a later time; in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
