Jane Ellen (Crist) Laws, 78, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025. She was born on November 6, 1947, in Huntington, Indiana, to the late Donald L. and Martha A. (Czajkowski) Crist.
Jane worked at the American Red Cross for almost 20 years in a variety of positions, later earning a B.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from Indiana-Purdue University in 1995. She loved her children, adored her beloved dogs, was an avid reader and talented pianist.
Surviving are her children, Joseph (Carrie) Laws of Garrett, IN and Sara (Ryan) West of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren, Evalynn and Preston Laws and Elliot and Julia West; siblings, Ronald (Cindy) Crist, Arlene (Gary) Deverman and Mary Ransom.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Gary Crist.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in her honor to your local animal humane shelter, the American Cancer Society or Cancer Research. FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services is handling arrangements.
