Obituary

JANE SOMERS LAMM, of Fort Wayne, died Friday, March 25, 2022, at home. Born Oct. 19, 1930, in Pasadena, Calif., she was a daughter of Byron H. Somers and Gladys Roberts Somers. Jane moved to Fort Wayne at the age of 10. She attended North Side High School and graduated from National Cathedral School in Washington D.C. A graduate of Purdue University, she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Jane married Rex A. Lamm in 1954. She was a children's leader with Bible Study Fellowship for many years, a member of the Junior League and a community volunteer at Fort Wayne Ballet. Jane is survived by her children, Byron (Shelby), Susan (John) Waldren, Alison (John) Nommay, and Edward "Ted"(Lisa); 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sisters, Druscilla S. Doehrman, Sally Somers VonBehren and Jeanette S. Quilhot. She was preceded in death by her sister, Joan Somers; her parents, and husband. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2022, at The Chapel, 2505 W. Hamilton Road. A private graveside service will be held at Lindenwood Cemetery. Preferred memorials may be directed to Project Mercy or Jesus Film Project. Arrangements entrusted to FairHaven Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
