James (Sam) Sampiere, age 58, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024, in Fort Wayne. Sam was born in Derby, Connecticut, and was a man of many trades. He helped out with the Allen County Amateur Radio Technical Society and was extremely good with anything electrical. He served as a fire control technician in the United States Navy and wore the United States uniform very proudly. During his time in the military, he was stationed on the USS Miami as well as the USS Nautilus. From 2002 until his passing, he used his electrical skills for Hexagon manufacturing. He loved to go off-roading in his Jeeps, until he suddenly switched over to become a Volkswagon lover. Sam will be deeply missed, and his sense of humor and love for his family and friends will be cherished. Sam is survived by his wife, Sarah Sampiere; children; Andrea Sampiere, Jeannette O'banion, Joe (Brittany) Kramer; dad, Michael Sampiere; brother, Michael (Kathy Norris) Sampiere; sister, Jennie (Tony) Eggert; grandchildren, Allison, Katie, Reese, Lucy, Ella, Adam, and Gingyer; many beloved nieces and nephews; and many friends who loved and appreciated him very dearly. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosalyn. A funeral service will take place at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services (6557 N.
