Dr. James (Jim) K. Robbins, age 87, passed away Monday, November 29th, 2021 in Fort Wayne and stepped right into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Jim was born in Sturgis, MI and grew up in Brighton, IN. Born into a family of educators, Jim spent the majority of his life guiding, teaching and coaching others. Jim attended Manchester College where he met the love of his life Mim. Jim earned his EdD from Indiana University and served as Deputy Superintendent at Fort Wayne Community Schools. After years of being bi-vocational, Jim retired from FWCS in 1994 and focused full-time on his career as a financial advisor.
Jim was a man of faith and active in his church. While he had many interests and accomplishments (being inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame as one), he would tell you his finest one was his family. Being surrounded by his wife, children and their spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him the greatest joy.
He is survived by his children, Dawn (Dan) Hoffman, Dr. James C. "Rob" (Jeana) Robbins, and Suze (Kelly) Fair; grandchildren, David, Amy, & Matt (Abby) Hoffman, Jessica Stevens, Jordan (Josh) Winningham, Janiece (Fernando) Zapari, Jacob (April) Robbins, Ben, Katie, & Mackenzie Fair; and 7 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Margaret Wagner.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Miriam Robbins, and his parents Carl and Marjorie Robbins.
Service is 4:00 pm, Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Covenant United Methodist Church, 10001 Coldwater Rd., with calling one hour prior.
