James L. Redwanski, age 87, passed away June 3, 2025 at Saint Anne Home after succumbing to prostate cancer.
He graduated from North Side High School in 1956 and completed the General Electric Tool and Die Apprentice Program. He worked in Tiffin, OH, and transferred to Morrison, IL as a tool maker machinist. He retired from General Electric after 42 years.
Jim married Carol (Reinig) Redwanski on August 6, 1960. They lived in Illinois for 48 years making many friends and enjoying the sights and sounds of the mighty Mississippi River. After retirement, he and Carol returned to Fort Wayne to be closer to aging parents and family.
Jim was active with St. Vincent de Paul Society delivering food to the needy and working with Carpenter Sons building ramps for the disabled. He was always willing to help where and when he was needed.
He is survived by his wife Carol; daughters, Deb (Gordon) Bajema, Ann McKee, and Mary (Mike) Bollman; seven grandchildren, triplets, Haley, Nick, and Emily; also, Savannah, Sullivan, Nate, and Sam; and brother, Fr. Dale Redwanski. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Dorothy (Reiling) Redwanski.
Mass of Christian Burial is 12:00 pm, Monday, June 16, 2025 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Rd., with calling two hours prior and a Rosary Service at 10:00am.
