James A. "Jim" Steinbacher, 85, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Jim was a son of the late Carl and Ella (Rowan) Steinbacher. Jim graduated from Central High School. Jim served our country proudly while being in the U.S. Marines. He worked as a sales representative with Rochester-Midland for many years. Jim enjoyed camping, golfing, watching NASCAR, and was an avid Notre Dame Sports Fan. Jim was a member of the Navy Club in New Haven. Surviving are his children, Leisa Sanders, Greg (Terry) Steinbacher, Julie Fox; son-in-law, Scott (Kari) Lipka; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren and brother, Lary (Carolyn) Steinbacher. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Steinbacher; and daughter, Kristi Lipka. Service is 6 pm, Thursday, February 15, 2024 at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street, with calling from 4 pm until the services. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Humane Fort Wayne.
