James Dawson "Jim" Bailey, 79, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Huntington, Indiana, Jim was the son of the late Hillus and Lula Bailey. Jim graduated from Huntington High School and earned his Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering. Jim served our country for 4 years in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for 30 years for Magnavox/Raytheon prior to his retirement. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church. Jim was always tinkering with something around his house. He loved planting and tending to his flower garden. Jim enjoyed garage sales, and woodworking. His funny personality and joking will be missed. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Barbara Bailey; sons, Tom (Debbie) Bailey, Gregory Bailey; grandchildren, Kierstin (Quinn) Kumfer, Brenton (Ashley) Bailey, Jayme Bailey, Dillion Bailey, Tyler Bailey; great-grandchildren, Kaysleigh, Cal; and his dog, Baby. Jim was preceded in death by his sisters, Melba Rentschler, and Doris Smitley. Service is 10 am, Friday, April 8, 2022 at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street, with calling one hour prior. Calling also at the funeral home on Thursday, April 7, 2022 from 4 pm to 8 pm. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorials may be made to First Assembly of God Church.
