James Arthur Jackson, age 79, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and quiet strength. He was a wholesome man who loved the Lord and found joy and purpose in attending church and living out his faith each day.
James was born to Mae Ruby Jackson and Herman L. Jackson, Sr. in Convington, TN, where he graduated from Frazier High School. He was the eldest of nine children, a role he carried with pride and responsibility throughout his life. As the oldest, he set an example of kindness, hard work, and integrity that remained evident in all he did.
He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Mary Lois Jackson, and a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His family was his greatest joy, and he cherished every moment spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
James found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. He loved going fishing, mowing his grass, tending to his garden during the summer months, cooking breakfast in the mornings, and creating lasting memories by taking his grandchildren camping. These moments reflected his gentle spirit and his deep appreciation for togetherness.
Professionally, James dedicated over 20 years to the telecommunications industry. His strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish his own locally owned business, Genesis Telecommunications, a testament to his determination and pride in honest work.
James will be remembered for his kind heart, warm smile, and witty humor that brought comfort and laughter to those around him. His presence was steady and reassuring, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.
His legacy of faith, family, and love will continue to live on through the many lives he touched.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Mary L. Jackson; his children, Kenny (Enma) Jackson, Sharon (Edward) Hollis of Fort Wayne, IN, and Robert Goins of Niles, MI; along with nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. His legacy is also carried on by his living siblings: Herman L. Jackson, Jr. of Mason, TN; and Joyce Burton, Sandra (Jerry) Conard, Warner Jackson, and Michelle Jackson, all of Elkhart, IN.
He was preceded in death by his son, Travis L. Jackson; and his siblings, Clifford Jackson, Cleveland Jackson, and Barbara Jackson
