Jack Wims Jr., age 86, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at his home in New Haven, IN. He was born Marion, AL to the late Jack Sr. and Channie Wims. Jack was a graduate of Central High School and later served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. He worked as an entrepreneur, operating several businesses throughout his career. Jack attended Pilgrim Baptist Church, enjoyed traveling, bowling, and spending time with friends and family. Jack always loved a home cooked meal and plenty of sweets. He is survived by his children, Jack (Karen) Quest, Victor (Beatriz) Wims, Marde (Harrison) Wims-Martin, Renae (Donovan) Bentley-Gay; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, siblings, Otis Lane, Alice (Nathaniel) Stephens, Arthur (Karen) Wims, and Suzanne (Reggie) Wims-Pearson. Jack was also preceded in death by his siblings, Chaney Wims-Henderson, Mary Lou Gold, and Lynette Wims-Cooper. Service is 12:00 pm, Friday, January 20, 2023 at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St., with calling two hours prior beginning at 10:00 am.
