Jack Vernon Jerraid, 87, of Fort Wayne, peacefully passed away on September 5, 2021. Jack was devoted to his "first wife", Norma Clark Jerraid, of sixty-eight years whom he married on Valentine's Day, 1953. Transitioning from rural Noble and Whitley counties, he had a long career at the Dana Corporation, and traveled the world working on projects. He was a self-made engineer, successfully patenting processes and equipment. Jack enjoyed problem-solving, tinkering, teaching, dancing, playing cards, laughing, and playing with his kids, including water skiing and sitting on the handlebars to ride a bicycle backwards. He designed and built his spacious family home by his own loving hands. Jack is survived by his wife, Norma; four children Jerri (Steve) Lerch, Jone Jerraid, Janice Jerraid-White, and John (Joanna) Jerraid; nine grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A family and friend memorial remembrance will be held at a later date. Jack's preferred memorials are to the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 166 Training Program, c/o Jeff Wagner, 2930 West Ludwig Road, Fort Wayne, 46818 or to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org/donate.
