Ivory Jennings Jr., 87, passed away Friday, August 23, 2024, in Fort Wayne. He was born on April 14, 1937, in Wilson, Arkansas, to the late Ivory Jennings Sr. and Mary Jennings. He retired from Consumers Energy in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Ivory loved to fish; the only thing that he liked more was telling war stories and stories about his family. Ivory was a very generous man who blessed each one of his eight brothers and sisters. He truly was our big brother. Ivory also liked to talk about financial blessings from God. For many years, Ivory believed God for a house and finances to bless the house of God. Ivory loved to bless God's house and God's people. Ivory is survived by his five siblings; James Jennings Sr., Gloria LaGrone, Martha (Delbert) Shipp, Ruby Jennings, and Willie (Joanne) Jennings, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his siblings; Bernice Jennings, Helen Jean Jennings, Mae Francis Tolbert, Dean Jennings, and David Jennings. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 30, at 4:00 pm, at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services (6557 N. Clinton Street). Memorials may be made to Kingdom First Church in Fort Wayne. The family gives a special thanks to the Parkview Hospice team, who diligently cared for Ivory, and to Kingdom First family, led by Pastor's David and Donna Spearman, who visited Ivory consistently in the nursing home as well as the hospital, supplying him with every need.
