Herbert D. Orr, 76, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Herbert was a son of the late Harold and Johanna (Beltz) Orr. He served our country proudly in the U.S. Navy. Herbert worked as a UAW worker for International Harvester for 30 years, prior to his retirement. He was a member of LaOtto Cultivate Church and Northeastern Indiana Beekeepers Assoc. You could always find Herbert in his pole barn working on projects and fixing things. He enjoyed taking care of his property, fishing, honeybee keeping, and most certainly spoiling his family and grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Rose (Wimmer) Orr; children, Matt (Sharon) Maley, Michel Maley, Angie (Nick) Barchak; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and brother, Jack Orr. Herbert was preceded in death by sisters, Rita Bloemker, and Darlene Dupré. Service is 11 am, Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street, with calling one hour prior. Calling also at the funeral home Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 4 pm to 8 pm. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens.
