Gregory S. Blackburn, 68, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Gregory was the son of the late William L. and Sarah J. (Turk) Blackburn. Greg graduated from Northside High School and earned his Bachelors Degree in Human Resources from IVY Tech. He had just retired after working many years as the HR Manager for Challenge Tool and Manufacturing in New Haven. Greg loved exercise, especially riding his bicycle. He and his loving companion Marty enjoyed camping together. He had a hilarious sense of humor and would always have to start a conversation with someone to learn more about them and how they are doing. Surviving are his loving companion of 24 years, Marsha "Marty" Renner; children, Mark (Danya) Renner, Kurt (Ann) Renner, Teri Snider; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; sisters, Shelby Blackburn, Greta Blackburn; niece, Layla Allman; and his two dogs, Shelby and Mini Me. A Celebration of Greg's Life will be 2:30 pm, Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street, with calling from noon until the services.
