Gloria Gene Wall died March 18, 2021, following an extended decline. She was born on May 31,1925, to Myrtle (Faulkner) and Ralph Overly, and was the only daughter in a family of 4 children. She graduated from North Side High School in 1944, and went on to become a supervisor in the IBM department at International Harvester, retiring after 15 years. She met her one true love, Arthur Wall, Jr. at the A & P grocery while working part time in high school, and they were married 66 years. Gloria then discovered her true passion in life, restoring antique European dolls, and designing and sewing period costumes for them. She developed a clientele in Fort Wayne and the surrounding area who wanted their collections restored and dressed authentically. She shared her life with 3 Shetland Sheep Dogs and several cats. She was a member of the Theta Phi Sorority, Fort Wayne Antique Club, and the East Allen County Doll Club. Everything Gloria attempted she perfected. She is lovingly remembered by three nieces Sandy, Rhonda and Rita, whose lives she influenced by her artistry and love. She would be embarrassed to hear this phrase "Gloria was a true artist." She was preceded in death by her husband in 2012, and three brothers Paul, Ralph Jr. and Herbert. She is survived by her son Phillip (Marla), multiple nieces and nephews, and several good friends, including Mary and Don Castleman. Her memorial service is Friday, April 23, 2021 from 10 am -12 pm at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St. Memorials may be made to Humane, Fort Wayne or Heartland Hospice.
