Gloria Jayne Jesse, 95, passed away peacefully at her home on December 15, 2025. Jayne was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to the late Eli Ade and Frances (Knipe) Guichard, and she quickly became the apple of her father’s eye.
As a young girl, Jayne formed lifelong friendships while enjoying activities she loved, including dancing, roller skating, and swimming. She later graduated from the Kelley School of Business and worked at Magnavox, as well as for several Fort Wayne physicians, where she served as a receptionist.
Jayne met the love of her life, Charles Jesse, and they shared a devoted and loving marriage until his passing in 2006. While Jayne cherished their life together, she often shared that her only regret was that they were unable to travel more before his passing.
Jayne had a keen interest in the world around her. She loved watching sports, stayed up to date on current events, and followed celebrity news with enthusiasm. A lifelong reader, she frequented the public library throughout her adult life. Jayne also had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved cat, Maggie.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Jackson; sons, Robert Broeking (Debbie) and Michael Jesse (Khristy); grandchildren, Benjamin Broeking, Kate Harris, Peyton Jesse, and Hunter Jesse; and great-grandchildren, Curtis Belmonte Broeking and Adrian Harris.
In accordance with Jayne’s wishes, she will be cremated and laid to rest next to her husband, Charles, in a private family ceremony.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Jayne’s dear friend Mary Boone, and her wonderful neighbors, Tom and Carol Butler, for their kindness and care over the past several years. They also wish to thank the Bunner family for always including her in their gatherings and celebrations, which brought her great joy. Special thanks are also extended to her neighbor Theresa for the many thoughtful baked goods.
Jayne was supported by Visiting Angels, and the relationship she shared with her caregiver, Gail, was especially meaningful and dear to her. FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
