Glen F.Grate, 78 of Fort Wayne, IN, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
He was born June 25, 1945, in Auburn, IN, to George and Laura Edith (Thomson) Grate. He grew up in Corunna, IN and graduated from Avilla High School.
He married Carolyn Bojrab, Sept. 13th 1980 at St Alban's Episcopal Church where they had been long time members.
He was a well known Barber in Fort Wayne for 50+ years. Worked at the Stag Barber Shop and Professional Village. In 1986, Glen & Carolyn Opened Grate Lengths Hair Salon, and worked together in their business throughout these many years.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn; his son Austin J.(Whitney) Grate; sisters, Connie Teders, Coleen (Lynn) Hart and Bonnie (Ken) Gehring;
sisters-in law, Sadie (Herb) Grate, Beverly (Dwight) Grate; brother-in-law, Bob (Carol) Bojrab; along with 17 nieces and nephews and their extended families. He was preceded in death by his parents; his two brothers, Herb and Dwight Grate; sister, Carolyn Anthony; two brothers-in-law, Lynn Anthony and Don Teders.
A memorial service will be held on October 14th, 2023, at St Alban's Episcopal Church, 7308 St Joe Rd. Ft. Wayne. IN at 1:00 with calling 1 hour before.
