Gerry Allen Cox, 87, passed away on October 13, 2026, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born in Fort Wayne to Myron and Hazel Cox.

Gerry was a simple man who found happiness in life’s little pleasures. He loved fishing, cheering on his beloved Indiana Hoosiers, watching baseball and college sports, playing euchre, and sharing laughs and good times with his buddies at the Legion. He valued his friendships, enjoyed the company of those around him, and never needed much to be happy. Above all, Gerry cherished the time he spent with his family. He will be remembered for his easygoing nature, his love of sports, and the simple way he enjoyed life.

He is survived by his three children, Chris Cox, Cami (Jason Fabini) McAbee, and Courtney (David Tipton) Cox; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister, Marylyn McComb; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Myron and Hazel Cox.

A celebration of Gerry’s life will be held at a later date.
