George Washington Marks III, 68, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana George was a son of the late George and Virginia (Rose) Washington Marks Jr. He graduated from South Side High School. He served our country proudly while in the U.S. Army. During his working years, George worked for ITT Aerospace for many years prior to his retirement. George was also proud to be a federated Miami Indian and enjoyed going to their meetings and playing the drum. George loved going antiquing at flee markets, garage sales, and going to auctions. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 241. Surviving are his wife, Suzan Marks; children, Chad Marks, Lisa (Derrick Conrad) Marks, Holly (James) Puff, Jessie (Brandy) Marks; step-children, Kathy Warner, Jason Gross; 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; siblings, Michael (Debby) Marks, Dewayne (Sandra) Roy, Susan Jarboe, Lynn Roy, Connie Racette; and sister-in-law Sharon Marks. George was preceded in death by his brother, Leslie Marks. Service is 6 pm, Friday, April 14, 2023 at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street, with calling from 3 pm until the services. Memorials may be made to the Miami Nation of Indians of Indiana or Miami Tribe of Oklahoma.
